Used Phoenix Imagesetters - Sales

The Phoenix Imagesetters are the fastest drum imagesetters ever made. They can be stand alone units where a separate chemical processor is needed but most have a Agfa online processor connected to the Phoenix. There are three different Agfa Phoenix models: Phoenix 2250, Phoenix 2000 and Phoenix News. Below is a brief description of each.

Phoenix 2250: The best selling and most popular. The Phoenix 2250 is a very fast 4 up imagesetter that will output film or polyester plate material. The maximum film size is 22.5 x 29. The Phoenix 2250 outputs film or polyester plate material at 1200, 1800, 2400 or 3000 dots per inch and can handle up to a 200 line screen. A Harlequin RIP is the preferred RIP, there is also a less expensive RIP called an Eagle. Both RIP's run on a Windows new PC platform. Many of the Phoenix Imagesetters are running polyester plate material instead of film. The polyester plate material comes in a roll just like film. Poly plate gives the Phoenix new life as a excellent CTP (computer to plate) device.

Phoenix 2000 is the same exact machine as the Phoenix 2250. Agfa needed to sell a lower cost Phoenix so they reduced the film size to 20 x 27 inches and made the Phoenix 2000 which was less money then a Phoenix 2250.

Phoenix News 2000 is the same exact machine as the Phoenix 2250 except the page size is smaller 19 x 27. It also has a head and tail punch.
